The Dress

Women of action: now you can wear a dress in the studio. Why would you want to do that? Maybe you like to feel breezy and graceful when you’re mixing plaster, prying open gesso cans, pounding nails into a wall, and running out for coffee.

Introducing The Dress, my special design for women who work with their hands. No zippers, buttons, belts or snaps. It fits the body without being revealing. Yet it isn’t baggy—not at all. Crucial design feature: you can raise your arms over your head and the rest of it stays put. You can look earnestly, Victorianly foxy while yanking old staples out of those stretchers you found in the trash. With or without a matching apron, The Dress is perfect for post-studio beers. Bonus: you can clean your brushes on it. When it gets too gunked up, turn it into a rag and start another one.
